Where did the name Whiskey Bird come from?

“Whiskey” is a nod to American whiskey, which plays a big role in our cocktail program. “Bird” comes from yakitori, the Japanese tradition of grilling chicken skewers over charcoal. Put them together and you get Whiskey Bird.

How would you describe the food?

We’re a New American restaurant with Asian influences. Our menu pulls from Japanese, Korean, and Southeast Asian flavors, built around dishes like yakitori skewers, our WB double smash burger, bao benedict at brunch, and Hong Kong chicken and waffles. Most guests order their own entrees, though the yakitori is great for the table to share.

Do you take reservations?

Yes. You can book through OpenTable on our website or by calling us directly. We also welcome walk-ins and always have bar seating available on a first-come basis.

What are your hours?

Dinner: Tuesday through Sunday. Brunch: Friday through Sunday, 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Happy Hour: Tuesday through Thursday 4:00 to 6:30 PM, Friday through Sunday 3:00 to 6:00 PM. We’re closed on Mondays.

Do you have outdoor seating?

Yes. We have a covered and heated back patio that’s open year-round, plus bar seating inside and a full dining room.

What’s included in happy hour?

Happy hour features discounted cocktails, beer, and wine along with a menu of bar bites. It runs Tuesday through Thursday from 4:00 to 6:30 PM and Friday through Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.

Is there parking?

Street parking is available along North Highland Avenue and the surrounding neighborhood streets. There’s also a small parking lot next to the restaurant.

Do you have options for kids?

Yes. We have a kids menu available at both dinner and brunch with items like popcorn chicken, a kids burger, and kids noodles.

Can you accommodate large groups or private events?

Where are you located?

We’re at 1409 N Highland Ave NE in Atlanta’s Virginia Highland neighborhood, just north of the Virginia Highland intersection in Morningside Village. We’re about 10 minutes from Midtown and a short drive from Emory University and Piedmont Park.

Is there a dress code?

No dress code. We’re casual and comfortable. Come as you are.
